OUR SCHOOL

Pleasantville Children's Center was founded by a parent group in 1972, and continues to be guided by a valuable and dedicated parent-elected Board of Directors. Together with the Board, our Program Director, Classroom Teachers and Teaching Assistants all take pride in celebrating the wonders of early childhood and fostering a school community centered on respect, self-discovery and inclusivity.

OUR GOALS

Our talented and professional staff strive to:
  • Provide young children with a happy and meaningful first experience away from home.
  • Offer a caring, nurturing and safe environment.
  • Encourage children's creativity though a planned but flexible curriculum that allows for exploration, discovery, experimentation and individuality.
  • Help each child establish a strong self-concept and enable them to gain a degree of independence.
  • Encourage children find learning to be a source of fun and fulfillment.
  • Meet the individual needs of each child (social, emotional, physical, aesthetic, and intellectual.)
  • Balance individual and group needs.
  • Meet parent needs, and value parent interest and ideas.
